§ 01

Who We Are

Inked Vice (“InkedVice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds digital booking, messaging, and portfolio tools for tattoo artists. We are based in British Columbia, Canada.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the tattoo artists who hold accounts with us and to the clients who book or message those artists through the Service.

For any privacy question or request, email us at support@inkedvice.com.

§ 02

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Artist account information. Name, email, username, bio, profile image, website, Instagram handle, studio location, timezone, and verification status.
  • Client booking information. When you request a booking, the artist's form may collect your name, email, phone number, Instagram handle, pronouns, and details about the tattoo you want — description, placement, size, and reference images — along with anything else you choose to share, such as whether it's your first tattoo or relevant considerations you provide.
  • Messages. The content of messages and emails exchanged between artists and clients through the Service.
  • Payment information. When you pay an artist through the Service, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your card and banking details directly. We receive limited information such as the amount, currency, payment status, and the name and email associated with the payment. We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Content. Designs, flash, portfolio images, and other content artists upload.
  • Connected services. If an artist connects Instagram or Google Calendar, we process the data needed to display their feed or sync their schedule.
  • Technical and usage data. Basic information your device and browser send when you use the Service — such as IP address, device and browser type, and activity logs — used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Things you sign up for. Waitlist entries, newsletter or magazine subscriptions, referrals, and support requests.

§ 03

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service — accounts, bookings, messaging, scheduling, and portfolios.
  • Process payments and payouts through Stripe.
  • Send service and transactional messages, such as booking confirmations, login codes, notifications, and support replies.
  • Send marketing or newsletter emails where you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and comply with our legal obligations.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.

§ 04

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these ways:

  • Between artists and clients. Booking and message data is shared with the specific artist or client you interact with, so the booking and conversation can happen.
  • With service providers. We share personal information with trusted providers who help us run the Service, only as needed and under confidentiality obligations. See the list below.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users, the public, or us.

If an artist connects Google Calendar, appointment details — which may include a client's name — sync to a calendar the artist controls. Artists are responsible for how they manage and share their own calendars.

§ 05

Service Providers We Use

These providers process personal information on our behalf to deliver the Service. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

We also rely on other infrastructure providers that help us run and secure the Service in the background, under the same confidentiality expectations.

§ 06

Where Your Data Is Stored

Our infrastructure and service providers are located primarily in the United States; in particular, the database that stores most personal information is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from Canada or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

This means your information may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access requests by their courts or authorities. We use reputable providers and require them to protect your information.

§ 07

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Some data has a much shorter lifespan — for example, one-time login codes expire within minutes, and in-app notifications are automatically removed after 90 days.

When you delete your account, we delete the personal information associated with it from our active systems, except where we need to keep certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.

§ 08

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent — for example, to marketing — at any time.

Artists can update much of their information directly in account settings. For anything else, email support@inkedvice.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

  • California residents. You have the right to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of it (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
  • EU, UK, and EEA residents. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have the rights described above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • Canada. You may contact us with any concern and, if you're not satisfied, complain to a privacy regulator — see Contact.

§ 09

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to work — for example, to keep you signed in (our authentication provider sets secure session cookies) and to remember your preferences.

We may also use limited analytics to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

§ 10

Marketing Emails

We only send marketing or newsletter emails, such as Inked Vice updates, if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — we'll stop promptly. You'll still receive necessary transactional messages, like booking confirmations and login codes.

§ 11

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has given us their information, contact support@inkedvice.com.

§ 12

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers; sensitive values such as one-time login codes are stored hashed rather than in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

§ 13

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
