I think of people as transdiciplinary beings. We are defined by our interactions with the world: the more you have, the more paths and understanding you create. The paths I took led me to tattooing and I don’t know were they will lead me next. I like empty spaces in tattoos, sort of a window into skin’s texture. That’s why traslucid texture seems to me the most natural way to create them. The positioning of tattoos follow the same reasoning: I always encourage borderbody placements in order to play with the partial views and perspectives of it. I never thought of becoming a tattoo artist. Yet, I am, and I’m in love with it. I’ve been tattooing for 11 and a half years now. I currently developed a MESH technique: a continuous placement of ovals of different sizes, angles and percentages of color to create texture and volume that reflects plants geometric shapes. I work surrounded by vegetation in the garden of my studio @arrecife_studio based in coyoacan, Mexico City.
